CONTACT TRACING PROCESS AND QUARANTINE: When the Southern Door School District is notified of a student or staff member who has tested positive with COVID-19, district staff begin the process of contact tracing to determine who may need to be designated as a ‘close contact’ of the positive individual. Note: Southern Door School District staff are only able to do contact tracing for the cases that are affiliated with Southern Door schools, and are not able to conduct follow-up/contact tracing for cases that are affiliated with entities outside of school (i.e., stores, restaurants, homes, other places of employment).
As Southern Door staff conduct the contact tracing for students or staff members, anyone who is identified as a “close contact” will be called directly by the school staff. Those that are identified as close contact individuals will be provided with information on what they need to do with respect to quarantining and monitoring for symptoms. As a general rule, anyone that has been identified as positive COVID-19 is not allowed to return to school until:
* 10 days after symptoms appear; AND
* No other symptoms associated with COVID-19 have developed; AND
* Door County Public Health notified the District that an individual is clear to return to school.
