Attention Southern Door Families!
We are pleased to announce that the USDA is extending the free meals for kids program now through December 31, 2020, or until federal funds are no longer available to support the program. You can see the press release from the USDA at this link.
All students attending Southern Door (whether on-site or as a remote learner) will not be charged for breakfast or lunch meals from September 1 through December 31, 2020, or until we are notified by the USDA that they are discontinuing the program. There is nothing your family needs to do at this point. Students will simply not be charged for breakfast or lunch. We will backdate this to the first day of school so any meals eaten yesterday and today, including Tues/Wed/Thurs packaged meals already picked up for remote learners, are free.
This USDA program does NOT cover: recess milk (“ES PK-3 Milk”), after-school lunch packs for middle/high school students, and A la Carte items for middle/high school students, including second entrees. Middle/high school students choosing to take extra entrees or sides will need to pay the usual A la Carte price.
The USDA program also allows free meals for any child in the Southern Door community 18 years of age and younger (including preschoolers), who do not attend Southern Door. Meals must be ordered in advance by filling out this form or calling (920) 825-7333 ext. 4501. Orders are due by 10:00 AM each Friday. Pre-ordered meals for Southern Door remote learners, and other community children not attending Southern Door, will be available for pickup from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesdays and Fridays, at door #11, the high school entrance on the east side of the school facility.
