HEALTH CONCERNS UPDATE
Dear Southern Door School District Families and Staff:

The Southern Door District values the health and well-being of our students, staff, and families. We work throughout the year to  put best practices into place.

Yesterday, Governor Evers declared a State of Emergency affording the state access to additional resources to address the coronavirus. In addition, the Wisconsin Department of Health provided guidance that includes social distancing in an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Effective immediately, school sponsored concerts and other large group community activities, will be canceled until further notice. Please see our district website events calendar for the most up to date information.

Your child's health and safety are our priorities as is their education. At this time with the minimal risk of coronavirus in Door County as reported by the Public Health Department, we are planning for school to remain in session, unless something happens at a larger level in the state.

It is essential that you have current information from the school. To assist in this process, we have parent resources under the Emergency Preparedness and Community tabs on the district website.

You will also be provided updated information on a regular basis through our district communication process. Please be sure that  your contact information is up to date in Infinite Campus.

The COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving and changing. We understand there is uncertainty involved in this situation. We plan to keep you informed as needed. We encourage you to contact the district school nurse or local public health department if you have further questions.

Sincerely,

Patricia Vickman, Superintendent
