Vacation and Safety Reminders

Dear Parents:

As we approach the holiday season, extra diligence needs to be done by parents to ensure that the following measures are taken in regards to some vacation and safety needs:

1)     If your child will be visiting family during the holiday or participating in any family activities, such as hunting, which will necessitate them missing some days of school, please be sure to get their absence pre-excused by calling the school office. In some cases, especially with the older students, this means that they are touching base ahead of time with all of their teachers about work that will be missed in their absence. If you have any questions regarding the process at your child's school, please contact the building principal.

2)     If you, your family, or your child do any hunting, please  be sure to double-check clothing and tote bags, to make sure that no hunting equipment is accidentally brought to school. As one can imagine, even the presence of a spent bullet dropped from a pocket in this day and age, could cause undue alarm to both students and staff.

3)     If you haven’t already taken advantage of registering for the countywide tip reporting application called ‘See it, Say it’, information about how to access it can be found in this letter from the Sheriff. It is available as a technology app as well as with a website presence.

Lastly, just a reminder that there are only two days of school next week, with the Thanksgiving break beginning on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.  Our best wishes for you and your family, as we welcome in the many traditions that are celebrated by our families and community at this time of year.
